• UC Santa Barbara senior Randy DeWeese notched his first career Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week award as the ringleader behind two sweeps of nationally ranked top 10 teams.
• DeWeese averaged 3.67 kills, 1.67 digs and 0.33 aces per set as the Gauchos walloped No. 8 UCLA on the road and No. 6 Pepperdine at home.
• The 6-foot-6 outside hit over .300 in both matches and finished the week swinging at a .381 (22-6-42) clip.
• In UCSB’s 25-23, 25-22, 25-18 win at Pauley Pavilion, DeWeese had nine kills on .316 hitting to go along with two aces, five digs and two block assists.
• DeWeese notched 13 kills – hitting .435 with just three errors in 23 attack attempts – and added five digs and a block assist in a Gaucho 25-19, 25-21, 25-23 victory over the Waves.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Connor Walbrecht claimed his second consecutive Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week accolade, leading UC San Diego to a sweep of No. 6 UC Irvine in a big conference win.
• The 6-foot-4 setter collected his sixth double-double of the season with match-highs of 12 digs and 45 assists. Walbrecht directed the Triton offense to .357 hitting – the eighth time this season the team has hit over .300.
• He added two block assists and an ace in the 25-22, 25-18, 25-23 triumph. He played an instrumental role in the Tritons achieving program firsts – first Big West sweep, first Big West regular-season sweep, and first Big West win streak.

• CSUN outside hitter Griffin Walters received his first career Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman Player of the Week accolade as he led his squad to its second straight win.
• The 6-foot-6 outside hitter posted a season-high 16 kills, five digs and two block assists in a sweep of Vanguard on Friday.
• Walters hit .387 on 31 swings and accounted for a team-best 17 points in the win. The Matadors are enjoying their first winning streak of the 2020 season.
