UC Santa Barbara posted a 2-1 record against tough competition with Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week Dominika Paterova knocking off a nationally ranked singles player to highlight the action.

The Gaucho senior went undefeated on the weekend in Orlando, Fla to culminate a seven-match road trip.

Paterova dominated No. 61 Marie Mattel of UCF in straight sets, surrendering just four games in a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles.

She also helped the Gauchos to a 4-1 team win over TCU, defeating Chloe Hule in a three-set comeback, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2.

In another 4-1 team win over Nebraska, Paterova and partner Anastasia Goncharova helped UCSB secure the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 1 over Claire Reifeis and Kristina Novak.

Three other contests went unfinished for Paterova, but the Czech Republic native led in all three at the time each match was clinched.
