McCauley Fuels Historic Win For UC San Diego

• Junior Kyle McCauley earned his second Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week award this season as his performance led UC San Diego to its first ever conference victory.

• McCauley delivered a career and match-high 24 kills in a five-set win at No. 5 UC Irvine. The Tritons had gone 0-10 in conference play in 2018 and 2019 – the first two years the Big West sponsored the sport.

• The 6-foot-4 outside hitter added 10 digs for his second double-double of the season.

• McCauley hit .333 with nine errors in 45 attack attempts. He had the match-clinching kill in the fifth set.

• He also collected a career-best three aces to go along with two assists and two blocks.

CONNOR WALBRECHT, UC SAN DIEGO
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• UC San Diego senior Connor Walbrecht claimed Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors as a key contributor to the program’s first ever conference victory.

• The 6-foot-4 setter posted a career-high 20 digs in the five-set win at No. 5 UC Irvine. That marked the most digs by a Triton in a single match since 2017.

• Walbrecht added a career-high tying three service aces as the Tritons snapped a 19-match losing streak to the Anteaters.

• Walbrecht also dished out 44 assists including the set to Kyle McCauley for the winner and 15-12 set five win.

GUILHERME VOSS, HAWAI‘I
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• For the second straight week and third time this season, Hawai‘i middle blocker Guilherme Voss is the Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week after providing more solid play for the nation’s No. 1-ranked squad.

• Voss averaged 1.67 kills and 1.50 blocks per set in a pair of straight set sweeps over No. 11 Stanford on the road.

• He notched five kills in each match and hit .471 for the weekend with just two errors in 17 attack attempts.

• Voss posted team-highs of four blocks in the opener and five in the rematch. He also collected three digs total over the two contests.
