• UC Davis senior Isabella Leon captured her first career Big West Softball Field Player of the Week award after hitting .529 over five games at the season-opening NorCal Kickoff.
• Leon rapped out nine hits in 17 at-bats to help the Aggies finish 4-1 at the tournament.
• She had four multi-hit games while scoring and driving in at least one run in all five contests.
• Three of Leon’s nine hits came via the home run – the three dingers matching her entire 2019 season total.
• Leon finished the week with seven runs scored and 10 RBI – the latter already more than a fourth of the total she has amassed in her two previous seasons as an everyday starter (38).
• She homered in victories over Saint Mary’s (6-2) and Santa Clara (11-3), and then again in a 9-3 loss to Boise State.
• The Chula Vista native also extended her streak of consecutive plate appearances without a strikeout to 34, a stretch that dates back to the third inning in last year’s Big West game at Long Beach State on May 5, 2019.

DANI MARTINEZ, CAL STATE FULLERTON • SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

• A workhorse performance by Cal State Fullerton sophomore Dani Martinez earned her a third career Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week accolade as the team opened the season 4-1.
• Martinez contributed to all four Titan victories as she finished the week a perfect 3-0 with a save.
• She registered a 1.26 ERA with just three runs allowed in 16.2 innings of work. Martinez scattered 10 hits, walked seven and fanned 21 batters.
• Martinez appeared in relief for her 2020 debut, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings of one-hit ball and getting the win in a 13-5 triumph over Middle Tennessee.
• She followed with two more relief stints, going 4.0 innings and striking out six in a 4-3 win over San Jose State. Against the Spartans, she entered the game with the bases loaded and nobody out, and escaped the inning without allowing a run. She picked up a three inning save in Saturday’s 6-2 victory over Utah State, fanning six more batters.
• In her first start of the season, Martinez mowed down six Loyola Marymount batters in a three-hit 5-0 shutout.

MEGAN DELGADILLO, CAL STATE FULLERTON • SOFTBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• Megan Delgadillo had an impressive start to her Cal State Fullerton career with a .550 batting average over five games, earning Big West Softball Freshman of the Week accolades.
• Delgadillo notched four multi-hit games, going 11-for-20 overall and being the only Titan with double-digit hits.
• She led the team with six runs scored, had an RBI, and went a perfect 6-of-6 on the base paths.
• Delgadillo’s collegiate debut included an RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth that cemented CSF’s 13-5 run-rule victory over Middle Tennessee.
• She turned in a 4-for-4 performance in a 4-3 victory over San Jose State and finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored in a 6-2 triumph over Utah State.
• The Riverside native ended her week with a pair of stolen bases and two more hits in the 5-0 shutout of Loyola Marymount.
