UCR's Pullin Notches First Career Men's Hoops Weekly Honor

• UC Riverside sophomore Zyon Pullin claimed his first career Big West Player of the Week award after leading his team to a pair of victories.

• An all-around effort from the 6-foot-4 point guard helped the Highlanders to a historic win over Washington from the Pac-12 as well as a road triumph against Denver.

• Pullin averaged 13.0 PPG, 6.5 RPG and 6.5 APG in the two games while shooting 64.3% (9-of-14) from the field and 71.4% (5-of-7) from distance.

• In the program’s fourth-ever win against a Pac-12 school, Pullin produced four points, nine rebounds and nine assists as the Highlanders defeated the Huskies, 57-42, in Las Vegas Tuesday. Pullin committed just one turnover in 35 minutes of action.

• In Sunday’s 83-63 win at Denver, Pullin poured in a career-high 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go along with four rebounds and four assists.

• Pullin scored 20 of his 22 points in the first half to stake his team to a 19-point lead at halftime against the Pioneers.

• The Pleasant Hill, Calif. native knocked down a career-high four threes against Denver.

• For the week, he handed out 13 assists against four turnovers while averaging 31.5 minutes per game.
