• UC Santa Barbara senior JaQuori McLaughlin has been named the Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for December 14-20.
• McLaughlin collected his third career Player of the Week honor after leading the Gauchos to a solid road win over Pepperdine.
• A starter in all 66 career games played with the Gauchos, McLaughlin produced a season-high 23 points in UCSB’s 75-63 victory against the Waves. He was one point shy of his career-high.
• McLaughlin also tied his career high with eight assists as he now leads the team with 24 on the year.
• McLaughlin shot 7-of-11 from the field and made 8-of-9 free throws in the second half as the Gauchos led from start-to-finish. He scored 14 of his points in the second stanza.
• The Oregon State transfer also added four rebounds and a steal in his 36 minutes of action.
• UCSB is 4-1 on the year heading into the start of Big West play, which begins with a two-game series December 27-28 at reigning conference champion UC Irvine.
