Bennett, Brown Named Women's Soccer Weekly Honorees

• Cal State Fullerton senior Maddie Bennett is the Big West Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on the strength of a stellar effort at San Francisco.

• The forward contributed to all three goals in a 3-3 tie against the Dons. Bennett helped stake the Titans to a 3-0 lead in the first 18 minutes of the match, scoring the first goal and assisting on the next two.

• Bennett scored her seventh goal of the season and is now tied for the second-most goals in the conference.

• Bennett ranks No. 3 in the Big West with 17 points on seven goals and three assists.

WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Sophia Brown earned the Big West Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor for the second time in her career. It is Cal Poly’s first award since Brown earned the distinction as a freshman after a brilliant collegiate debut weekend in 2016.

• The Mustang now has 325 saves after adding two more this weekend and is ranked No. 2 in Cal Poly history, and No. 7 in Big West Conference annals.

• The goalkeeper's clutch save during the overtime period kept Seattle U, the defending WAC Tournament champions, in a 1-1 tie. This allowed the Mustangs to ultimately win the match, 2-1, on a penalty kick in the 94th minute.
