• UC Santa Barbara freshman Finn Ballard McBride picked up his first Big West Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award as a contributor to three of the team’s five goals over two matches.

• Ballard McBride scored two goals and assisted on another to help the Gauchos extend their unbeaten streak to six straight games. He took two shots for the week and converted both.

• The Aussie scored the second goal in UCSB’s 2-0 win at Pacific. His attempted cross traveled through traffic into the far side of the goal without a single deflection.

• The midfielder had a big impact in Saturday’s 3-3 double overtime tie against No. 1 Stanford. Ballard McBride put UCSB up 1-0 at the 14:23 mark with a backheel attempt inside the six-yard box. With the score tied 2-2, Ballard McBride kept the ball alive after a deflected shot, and fed Rodney Michael for his first goal of the year in the 63rd minute.

• Earning his fourth career Big West Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award, Cal State Fullerton senior Paul-Andre Guerin kept his team among the ranks of the unbeaten with solid play in net.

• Guerin – tied for eighth all-time in Big West history with his four weekly awards – piled up 14 saves and allowed just one goal in 200 minutes (0.45 GPA) as the Titans shutout California Baptist (1-0) and tied No. 16 Loyola Marymount (1-1).

• Guerin stopped a season-high 10 shots against the Lions in a battle of top 25 programs. His four saves versus CBU led to his 18th career shutout, which is one off the CSF record. He leads the league with an .854 save percentage.
