Ruddins Ties Women's Volleyball Player Of The Week Record

• Senior Lindsey Ruddins tied the conference mark for most career Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week awards as she led UC Santa Barbara to impressive victories over UCLA and Pepperdine.

• Ruddins earned her 11th Player of the Week citation – and second this season – tying Cal Poly’s Kylie Atherstone (2005-08) for the league record.

• The 6-foot-2 outside hitter averaged 4.50 kills, 2.63 digs and 0.88 blocks per set while hitting .283 (36-10-92) for the week.

• Ruddins slammed 17 kills on .333 (17-3-42) hitting in the sweep of the Bruins. She added seven digs and four blocks.

• She led UCSB to a come-from-behind, reverse sweep over Pepperdine with 19 kills and 14 digs. It was her sixth double-double of the year. Ruddins added three blocks against the Waves.

• Ruddins helped the Gauchos extend their winning streak to eight straight and improve to 10-1 overall, the program’s best 11-match start since the 2002 team opened 11-0.

TALLULAH FROLEY, UC SANTA BARBARA
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• UC Santa Barbara opposite Tallulah Froley claimed her first Big West Women’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week award with stellar play in non-conference wins over UCLA and Pepperdine.

• Froley had a combined 30 kills last week – 15 in each match – helping the Gauchos defeat the Bruins and Waves in the same season for the first time since 1998.

• The Half Moon Bay, Calif., native hit .667 (15-1-21) to help UCSB sweep the Bruins for the first time since 1998.

• After trailing two sets to none, UCSB pulled off the reverse sweep of Pepperdine, aided by Froley’s fifth set performance which included back-to-back kills to give the Gauchos an 11-8 lead.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Earning her first career Big West Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week award, Shira Lahav of UC Davis shined in the back row to help the Aggies to the team tournament title of the Roadrunner Invitational.

• Lahav, the team’s digs leader with 128 this season, added 58 more over three matches (5.27 dis) as the Aggies finished 2-1 at the tournament hosted by CSU Bakersfield.

• Lahav posted 23 digs in the sweep of San Francisco, just one away from her career-high (24 vs. Wyoming).

• She had 14 digs in a four-set win over Fresno State and scooped 21 more in a four-set loss to the host Roadrunners.

• The Aggie had a career-high four service aces in the tournament opener against Fresno State.
