• UC Santa Barbara senior Shaelan Murison notched her second career Big West Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award after collecting 10 points over two games, including her second career hat trick.
• The forward scored three goals in Sunday’s 4-2 win at Loyola Marymount. She also assisted on the fourth goal. Her first career hat trick came during her freshman season on September 16, 2016 when she had three goals in a win at UTSA.
• Murison tallied a goal and an assist in Friday’s 3-0 shutout of Fresno State. The Gauchos are unbeaten (3-0-2) in the five games in which Murison has scored a goal this season.
• The Santa Clara native was active in the two games, taking a total of 10 shots with seven of them on frame.
• Murison’s four goals last week gave her a conference-leading seven for 2019.

WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• CSUN freshman Kacie Garrity earned her first career Big West Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor after anchoring a defense that allowed just one goal in 200 minutes of action.
• The defender booted her first career goal in the second half of a 1-1 tie at Arizona State. Off a run from the left side, Garrity took the ball deep into ASU’s side and unleashed a high-arching shot from the left corner of the box into the right corner of the net at the 48:06 mark.
• In addition to her offensive contributions, she was a vital cog on the defensive end. Her work on defense held the fifth-highest scoring team in the nation to one goal. Garrity played the full 110 minutes in Tempe.
• Garrity also helped the Matadors post their sixth shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory at Grand Canyon.
