Three-Peat For Parapunov As 'Bows Continue To Roll

• For the third straight week and the fifth time in his career, junior Rado Parapunov nabbed Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week honors as he led Hawai‘i to a conference series sweep over CSUN.

• The 6-foot-9 opposite averaged 4.83 kills per set, hitting .600 with 29 kills and just five errors on 40 attempts. He had team-high in kills in both matches, posting 12 in the opener and 17 in the rematch as UH recorded two sweeps.

• Parapunov hit .733 (12-1-15) to go along with three digs, two blocks (one solo) and an assist in Friday’s 25-23, 25-16, 25-17 victory.

• He knocked down 17 kills on .520 hitting (17-4-25) in Saturday’s rematch, a 25-16, 25-17, 25-18 affair.

• He delivered five digs, two block assists and a pair of aces against the Matadors in the rematch.

NICK AMADO, LONG BEACH STATE • MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Senior Nick Amado helped top-ranked Long Beach State outlast No. 3 UC Santa Barbara with stellar play at the net, collecting Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors in the process.

• The 6-foot-6 middle blocker averaged 1.11 blocks per set and also played effectively on the offensive side of the ball, averaging 1.89 kills per set on .593 hitting.

• Amado recoreded a career-high four aces and chipped in with four block assists in the five set victory in the first match. It was the first time all season that LBSU had been taken to five sets.

• In addition to hitting .556 (11-1-18) in the first match, Amado knocked down six kills in nine errorless attempts in the rematch and added six blocks (one solo) to go along with one more ace.

• Logan Clark of UC San Diego claimed his first Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman Player of the Week award with a strong performance against Lindenwood in non-conference action.

• The 6-6 middle blocker posted seven kills with a .462 hitting percentage (7-1-13) as the Tritons earned a three-set sweep on Tuesday.

• Clark also added two block assists as head coach Kevin Ring earned his 100th career victory.
