Parapunov Continues Run on Player of the Week Awards

RADO PARAPUNOV, HAWAI‘I • MEN'S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• For the fourth time in five weeks, Hawaii junior Rado Parapunov earned the Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week nod.

• The 6-foot-9 opposite averaged 4.89 kills per set and hit .472 (44-10-72) in a 3-0 week for the Rainbow Warriors, which improved to 23-0 on the year. UH hasn’t lost a set all season long.

• In a trip to southern California, Parapunov led UH in a win at Concordia and a series sweep over UC San Diego. He had double-digit kills in all three matches.

• Parapunov notched 18 kills on .640 (18-2-25) hitting in the rematch against the Tritons. He had 15 kills and a season-high six blocks against Concordia.

• The native of Bulgaria turned in 11 kills and five blocks in the opening match against UC San Diego. He had 12 blocks over nine sets for a 1.33 average.

HAYDEN BOEHLE, UC SANTA BARBARA •
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• UC Santa Barbara senior Hayden Boehle earned his second Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week award this season thanks to his role on the backline in a pair of conference wins.

• The 6-foot-1 libero averaged 3.63 digs per set to help the Gauchos sweep CSUN in a home-and-home series.

• Boehle notched 11 digs in a 3-0 sweep at home on Friday.

• In a five-set thriller at CSUN on Saturday. he tallied a season-best 18 digs.

• Boehle added five assists as the Gauchos improved to 4-2 in Big West play.

RYAN WILCOX, UC SANTA BARBARA •
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Ryan Wilcox claimed his fourth Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman Player of the Week honor as the UC Santa Barbara rookie provided the necessary offense in a pair of conference wins.

• The 6-2 outside hitter averaged 3.13 kills and 1.75 digs per set while hitting .271 (25-9-59) in a 2-0 week versus CSUN.

• Wilcox had a solid outing with 12 kills on .435 (12-2-23) hitting in a sweep of the Matadors on Friday. He followed up with 13 kills in a five-set win on Saturday.

• Wilcox also contributed seven digs and an ace in each match.
