Hawai'i Sweeps Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards

PATRICK GASMAN, HAWAI‘I – MEN’S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior • MB • Clovis, Calif. • Buchanan HS

• The junior middle blocker was an integral part in helping Hawai‘i to three straight-set wins at the BYU Invitational to earn Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors

• Gasman tallied 14 total blocks and averaged 1.56 blocks per set in the tournament

• Offensively, the 6-foot-10 middle averaged 1.78 kills per set, hitting .762 with no errors in 21 attack attempts

• Gasman had at least four blocks in each match, including five against McKendree and BYU

• The junior also had 10 kills, hitting .909 against the Cougars

• Gasman leads the nation with 1.577 blocks per set

• The senior setter led Hawai‘i to the BYU Invitational title with straight-set wins over McKendree, Princeton and BYU

• Worsley averaged 12.11 assists and 1.89 digs per set and served five aces, including three against BYU

• The setter quarterbacked the UH offense to a .425 hitting percentage during the tournament while finishing with seven kills, hitting .500 on the weekend

• Worsley had 37 assists, four kills, three aces, and eight digs against the Cougars

• Two of the setter’s three aces occurred in set 3 against BYU, including his third on match point

• The senior leads the nation in assists per set (11.82) and directs the nation's top offense (.481)
