• UC Davis junior Marisa Given earned Big West Softball Field Player of the Week honors after hitting .600 in a series win over Cal Poly.
• The outfielder had six hits in 10 at-bats, with all six coming in the final two games of the series as the Aggies outscored the Mustangs 12-0.
• After starting the series 0-for-3 in a 1-0 loss, Given went to work at the plate with consecutive three-hit games, increasing her team-high total to 11 on the year.
• Given went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in a 7-0 game two win. She added a stolen base.
• In the rubber game, she went 3-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs. All three of her hits were doubles, tying a school-record for doubles in a game set in 1996 and matched in 2012. She accounted for four of the team’s five runs in the 5-0 victory.
• Overall, Given played a role in seven of the team’s 12 runs scored in the series.

• For the second straight week and fifth time this season, UC Davis sophomore Brooke Yanez collected the Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week award.
• Yanez went 1-1 with a 0.50 ERA in two complete game performances against Cal Poly. She allowed just four hits and one run while striking out 18 in 14.0 innings of work.
• The southpaw tossed the fourth no-hitter in the program’s Division I history in the series finale against Cal Poly just a month after throwing the first perfect game in the program’s Division I history.
• Yanez faced just one batter over the minimum in the 5-0 win, striking out seven, while allowing just two baserunners via walks.
• The win improved her to 20-3 on the season, making her the first Aggie 20-game winner since Justine Vela in 2012, and only the ninth UC Davis pitcher since 1982.
• The seven strikeouts upped her season total to 201 – only the fourth pitcher in the program’s Division I era to eclipse that mark.
• She got credited with the loss in a 1-0 pitcher’s duel in the series opener, but struck out 11 and allowed just four hits in the tough luck decision.

• Cal State Fullerton pitcher Dani Martinez racked up her fourth Big West Softball Freshman of the Week honor with three productive outings against rival Long Beach State.
• The right-hander recorded a 0.58 ERA over 12.0 innings as she appeared in all three games with two of those victories against the Beach.
• Martinez notched her second save of the season in the 5-2 series-opening win. She tossed two perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts.
• The middle game featured a pitcher’s duel that did not end up favoring Martinez. She went the distance in a 1-0 defeat, allowing just four hits and the one run in 6.0 innings. Martinez did not walk a batter and fanned three.
• Martinez pitched 4.0 innings of relief in Sunday’s 9-6 series-clinching win. She allowed three hits and three unearned runs while retiring two via strikeout.
• Martinez has appeared in the circle in eight consecutive games and leads the Titans in innings pitched with 109.2 on the season.
