UCD's Bertsch Selected In WNBA Draft

A record-setting four-year career in a UC Davis uniform did not go unnoticed by the professional ranks as Morgan Bertsch saw her name selected in the 2019 WNBA Draft.

Bertsch was a third round selection (No. 29 overall) by the Dallas Wings, becoming the first Big West WNBA draftee since UC Santa Barbara's Mekia Valentine was selected in the third round (No. 34 overall) of the 2011 WNBA Draft. Bertsch is also the first UC Davis player to be drafted into the league.

Bertsch had arguably one of the most decorated careers in Big West history. She is a four-time All-Big West selection with three of those coming on the first team. She also earned Big West Player of the Year and Tournament MVP honors this past season, leading the Aggies to the Big West regular season and Tournament crowns and the first NCAA Tournament bid since 2011.

Bertsch ended her career with 2,422 points, the third-most in Big West history and the most by a UC Davis basketball player (men's or women's). The Aggies went 97-35 over her four seasons, winning three Big West regular season titles. Bertsch scored in double figures in 67 straight games to end her career and was a nine-time Big West Player of the Week selection.

Dallas is coming off a 15-19 campaign that saw the team earn a playoff berh for the second consecutive season. The Wings' preseason schedule begins May 13 against the Atlanta Dream.
