McLaughlin Makes Men's Hoops Honor Roll

• Junior JaQuori McLaughlin collected his second career Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award after leading UC Santa Barbara to three straight wins.

• The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 17.0 points 2.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists as the Gauchos defeated Idaho State, Southern and Merrimack last week, and have now won eight of their last nine games.

• McLaughlin shot 41.9% (13-of-31) overall, making 50.0% (6-of-12) from the three-point range. He also was solid at the free throw line going 19-of-22 (.864).

• The Oregon State transfer scored a career-high 24 points in the 77-68 victory over Southern on Friday. He made 6-of-12 from the field, including three treys to go along with three rebounds and three assists.

• McLaughlin dished out a career-high tying eight assists with no turnovers to help the Gauchos past Merrimack, 68-50. He also had a steal in what was UCSB’s best defensive effort of the season.

• In a 74-68 overtime victory at Idaho State, McLaughlin tallied 18 points on a perfect 8-of-8 effort from the charity stripe. He made all eight free throws across the second half and overtime.

• For the week, McLaughlin dished out 12 assists against six turnovers for a +2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.
