Lane Captures First Career Women's Basketball Weekly Honor

• UC Santa Barbara freshman Ila Lane earned her first career Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award after averaging a double-double over three games.

• The 6-foot-4 forward/center helped the Gauchos to a 2-1 record as she averaged 16.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and a block in 23 minutes per game.

• Lane notched her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season in wins against San Diego State and Chicago State. She had 17 points and 12 rebounds against the Aztecs in a 64-52 win. Against the Cougars, Lane dropped 20 points and secured 10 rebounds in just 21 minutes of a 96-65 rout.

• She flirted with another double-double but came up just one rebound short, finishing with 11 points and nine boards in a 67-56 loss to Stephen F. Austin to kick off the Nugget Classic in Reno, Nev.

• Lane also picked up two steals and two blocked shots against Chicago State.

• Lane’s effort against Chicago State marked her third 20-point game of the season.
