• Cal Poly junior Maia Dvoracek captured her fourth Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week award this season after a pair of outstanding offensive performances.
• Dvoracek recorded 49 kills in two matches for a whopping 7.00 kills per set average as the Mustangs defeated CSUN in three sets and lost at No. 21 Hawai‘i in four.
• The 6-foot-1 outside hitter posted a .347 hitting percentage (49-16-95) while also averaging 2.43 digs and 0.57 aces per set.
• Dvoracek met the 20-kill mark for the fourth and fifth times this season, and extended her streak of double-figure kills to 13 straight.
• In the sweep of CSUN, she collected a match-high 20 kills (20-3-32) on .531 hitting to pair with three service aces and four digs.
• With first place on the line in Honolulu, Dvoracek managed a match-high 29 kills (one off her career-high) to go along with 13 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. She added an ace and a block in the four-set loss to the Rainbow Wahine.
• Dvoracek leads the Big West with 50 service aces and a 0.59 ace per set average. Through 11 conference matches, she is also averaging 5.17 kills per set.

HANNA HELLVIG, HAWAI‘I
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• For the fourth time this season, Hanna Hellvig of Hawai‘i is the Big West Women’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week as she helped propel her team to a pair of wins over previous league-leaders UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.
• The 6-foot-2 outside hitter averaged 3.56 kills, 1.11 digs and 0.67 blocks per set while hitting .308 (32-8-78) for the week.
• The two wins moved UH into first place in the Big West with a 10-2 record, a half-game ahead of UCSB and Cal Poly.
• Hellvig led UH with a combined 32 kills in the two matches. She compiled a career-high 19 kills on .304 (19-5-46) hitting in a marathon five-set win over the Gauchos on Friday. She also tallied six digs, two assists, a block and an ace for a team-high 20.5 points.
• Helping avenge a UH loss to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo last month, Hellvig posted a team-high 13 kills and hit .313 (13-3-32) in the four-set win Sunday. She contributed five blocks (one solo) and had four digs to go toward a team-high 16.0 points.
• Hellvig has garnered 18 double-digit kill matches in her rookie season, leading the team in kills in 12 of the last 15 contests.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Junior Rika Okino notched Big West Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors as a key component in Hawaii’s two important conference wins over UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.
• The defensive specialist posted a team-high combined 35 digs over the weekend, helping limit the Gauchos to .218 hitting and the Mustangs to just a .123 mark.
• Okino tallied a career-high 25 digs in a five-set thriller over the Gauchos. That total was the highest for a UH player since Tita Akiu had 34 scoops against Baylor in last year’s NCAA Tournament First Round.
• Okino got better against UCSB as the match progressed. After posting seven digs through the first three sets, Okino had 18 over the last two, including 12 in the fourth set alone. She also produced six digs in the decisive fifth set.
• The Honolulu native had 10 digs against the Mustangs to secure her seventh double-digit match this season.
• She also had four assists in each match and served up an ace against Cal Poly.
