• Callum McRae paced UC Riverside to a pair of non-conference home wins to earn his first career Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award.
• The sophomore averaged 16.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game as the Highlanders defeated Redlands (76-44) and Denver (73-49) to improve to 4-2 on the season.
• The 4-2 start is the program’s best through six games in a decade.
• McRae shot a stellar 88.2 percent from the field, making 15 of 17 shots and both of his free throw attempts.
• McRae scored 14 points on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting against Redlands and added 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season in just 20 minutes of action.
• The New Zealand native keyed the 24-point victory over Denver with 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks. He sank 8-of-10 from the floor.
• McRae, who also had three swats against Redlands, is tied for second in the Big West in blocks with 10.
• He also ranks No. 10 in scoring (13.5 ppg), No. 1 in rebounding (9.5 rpg) and No.4 in field goal percentage (.632) on the conference leaderboard.
