Cal Poly, UC Irvine Represent On Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

• Junior Emmanuel Perez earned Cal Poly’s first Big West Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week accolade in nearly four years after producing two goals and an assist in a pair of wins.

• Perez scored his eighth and Big West-leading ninth goals of the year to power the Mustangs at home over Cal State Fullerton (3-1) and CSUN (2-0).

• The wins bumped Cal Poly into fourth place in the Big West with six points.

• Perez had the game-winning assist against the Titans as his pass to the left post was tapped in by Angel De Leon in the 23rd minute. Perez provided an insurance goal at the 57:21 mark.

• Perez put Cal Poly up 2-0 on CSUN with a tap-in goal at the right post in the 51st minute.

VICTOR FALCK, UC IRVINE
MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Commandeering the midfield for UC Irvine, Victor Falck earned Big West Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week recognition after helping hold two of the league’s top clubs to just one goal combined.

• The senior anchored a defensive effort which helped limit first place co-leaders UC Davis and No. 12 UC Santa Barbara to a combined 10 shots – only three on goal.

• Falck was a key factor in UCI’s 1-0 shutout of UC Davis, which managed just four shots for the game.

• In the 2-1 road win over the nationally-ranked Gauchos, Falck helped limit the league’s top offense to just one goal and tallied a goal himself for the Anteaters, ramming home a follow-up shot off a deflection from a UCSB defender. It was his team-high tying fourth goal of the season.

OSCAR CERVANTES, UC IRVINE
MEN'S SOCCER FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• Oscar Cervantes notched a game-winning goal against No. 12 UC Santa Barbara to give UC Irvine the 2-1 victory in overtime and earn his first career Big West Men’s Soccer Freshman of the Week honor.

• In his only shot of the match in the 95th minute, Cervantes ripped an attempt from 25 yards out to the lower left corner for his second goal of the season.

• His goal ended UCSB’s 11-match unbeaten streak.
