MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

• Cal Poly junior Jake Ritter claims his first Big West Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week award, taking the crown from Blue-Green rival, UC Santa Barbara, who won the award the previous two weeks.
• The Mustang won the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento over the weekend with an 8K time of 24:04.1.
• The Citrus Heights native bested a field of 280 other tough competitors in the Invite Section at the Arcade Creek Course.
• Ritter’s medalist performance aided to Cal Poly’s overall meet victory where they scored 51 points, leaving a gap of 16 points between the Mustangs and second place Chico State.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Senior • Atascadero, Calif.
• Miranda Daschian secures the Big West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor for the first time this season and for the third time in her career.
• The senior’s 6K time of 20:42.7 led Cal Poly to a third place finish overall (139 points) at the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento on Saturday.
• The Mustang took fourth place out of 319 other runners on the Haggin Oaks Golf Course layout. She finished just over three seconds out of third place.
