Jessica Alexander led a potent CSUN offense while Jessica Flores threw her first career no-hitter at Long Beach State as the duo took home softball weekly honors.

➜ CSUN sophomore Jessica Alexander nabbed her second career Big West Softball Field Player of the Week honor as she hit .600 in a series victory over UC Santa Barbara.
➜ Alexander recorded six hits in 10 at-bats and slugged 1.000 as the Matadors scored 26 runs while winning two out of three games against the Gauchos.
➜ The third baseman scored at least one run and had at least one hit in all three contests. She tallied five runs scored and four RBI for the series.
➜ Alexander blasted her third home run of the year – a two-run shot – to punctuate an 8-1 victory over the Gauchos in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader.
➜ In Sunday’s rubber game, a 13-5 win, she went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI. She doubled, walked and stole a base in an all-around productive performance.
➜ She recorded a pair of hits in a 9-5 loss to UCSB in the series opener.

➜ In tossing her first career no-hitter, Long Beach State senior Jessica Flores notched Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week accolade.
➜ The right-hander threw the no-no in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Cal Poly. It was her third complete game shutout of the season.
➜ Flores walked just two batters and struck out two as the Beach clinched the series against the Mustangs with the pitcher’s duel win.
➜ She appeared in relief in Sunday’s series finale, allowing a run in three innings. She posted a 0.70 ERA for the week, yielding just one hit in 10 innings pitched.
➜ Flores is now 9-1 on the year with a 2.89 ERA.
