The 15th seeded Cal State Fullerton Titans gave second-seeded Purdue all it could handle, as it flirted with one of the biggest upsets in college basketball history through one half of play, but in the end the Boilermakers topped the Titans 74-48 in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, Friday afternoon inside Little Caesars Arena.

For Fullerton (20-12), the loss puts an end to one of the best seasons in program history, as the Titans racked up 20 wins for just the seventh time in school history and made their third trip to the Big Dance. Fullerton has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2018, 2008 and 1978. The 20 victories were the most since the Titans captured 21 wins during the 2011-12 campaign.

Kyle Allman, Jr. was phenomenal in his NCAA Tournament debut, as he led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field. He also grabbed a team-high equaling five boards and dished out two assists.
