A UC Davis trio of middle blockers in Kaylin Squyres, Katie Quinn and Aima Eichie led the Aggies to a weekend sweep and earned Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week accolades in the second week of conference play.
Squyres Leads Aggies in Kills to Sweep UC Santa Barbara
Junior middle blocker Kaylin Squyres (Rocklin, Calif./Whitney HS) earned Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week honors after averaging 12.5 kills, 6.5 digs and 3.5 digs in road victories over Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara.
The junior recorded 11 kills, 4 digs and 3 service aces while averaging 2.75 kills-per-set Friday versus the Mustangs.
Squyres then put up match highs in kills (14), total swings (35), digs (9) and blocks (5) in Saturday’s sweep of the Gauchos to bring the Aggies to a 2-1 mark in league play.

Eichie Brings Home First UC Davis Freshman Honor of the Season
With a career-high performance Friday, Aima Eichie (Castle Rock, Colo./Rock Canyon HS) received UC Davis’ first Big West Women’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week nod this season.
Posting eight kills and 15 swings at Mott Gym in San Luis Obispo, Eichie recorded two new career-highs in a 3-1 win over the Mustangs.
The middle blocker figured in nine (1.29 blocks-per-set) of the team’s 25 blocks over the weekend and played a large role in helping the Aggies hold both the Mustangs and the Gauchos to a combined 0.53 hitting average in a total of seven sets.
The first year posted 14 kills and two digs in the second week of conference play en route to a two-match sweep.

Quinn Shines At Net For Aggies
Senior middle blocker Katie Quinn (San Anselmo, Calif./Drake HS) put up impressive numbers at the net in the second week of conference play and garnered Big West Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week awards.
While amassing 25 total block and averaging 3.57 blocks per set, the senior spark plug helped hold the Aggies to a .053 hitting percentage and recorded 10 blocks assisted Friday, and 14 total over the weekend.
Friday marked the third time Quinn recorded double-digit blocks in her career, and the second time this season.
The middle blocker also added four digs over the weekend, two service aces and 20 total attacks.
