On day three, UC Davis carded its best round of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga., to elevate the Aggies to a tie for 13th.

Spearheaded by senior Demi Runas' 1-under 71, the Aggies fired a 6-over 294 for a three-round score of 890, tying them with Pac-12's Arizona.  USC continues to dominate the 24-team field with an impressive 19-under 845 and is followed by Duke (262) and Purdue, Alabama and UCLA, who are knotted in third with a score of 873.

Freshman Betty Chen continues to pace the Aggies at the NCAA Championship with a three-round score of 218, good enough for T21st.  Runas is one stroke back with a total of 219 and is tied for 24th.  Bev Vatananugulkit shot 4-over 76 for the second straight day to find herself knotted in 90th place, while Amy Simanton and Andrea Wong sit T108th with a three-day score of 281.

This is the third time in six years that the Aggies qualified for the NCAA Finals, also advancing in 2008 and 2011.  The Aggies finished 20th  two years ago for their best showing.

Twenty-four teams and 126 individuals will compete in 72 holes of championship competition during the course of four days. In the team play, the low-four individual scores for each team will count in each day’s total score.

The final round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championship is slated for Friday, May 24.
