A day after earning Big West Pitcher of the Week accolades, Long Beach State's Shane Carle collected NCBWA National Co-Pitcher of the Week honors with Oregon's Andrew Moore.

The junior from Santa Cruz, Calif., struck out a career-high 13 in a complete-game shutout on Friday night.  Carle threw 119 pitches in the 5-0 victory to help the Dirtbags complete a 4-0 week.  The 13 strikeouts represented the most by a LBSU pitcher since Jared Hughes had that total in 2006.

It was the first complete game shutout of the year for the Dirtbags, and the second straight complete game for the right-hander, who scattered six hits and walked two while lowering his ERA to 2.91 on the year.

Long Beach State closes out the 2013 regular season wiht a three-game series at UC Irvine.
