Hawai'i Captures First Big West Tournament Title

altThe No. 1 and No. 2 matchup between UC Irvine and Hawai'i was how tournament championships are suppose to go.  The four-time defending champs, UC Irvine hosted the 2013 Big West Women's Water Polo Tournament for the first time, looking to win the title again for a home crowd.  But first year conference foe, Hawai'i was determined to take it all.  Both teams shared the regular season title, splitting in the two matchups they face each other in this season. 

An overtime win went to the Warriors, a goal with just 44 seconds left in the second overtime period by senior Monica Eggens to seal the deal for the Wahine in a 5-4 victory against UC Irvine.  Eggens was later named Big West Tournament MVP as Hawai'i captured their first ever Big West Tournament title in their debut season in the Big West.

Women's Water Polo Captures Big West Tournament

The top-seeded University of Hawai'i women's water polo team defeated host and No. 2 seed UC Irvine 5-4 in a double-overtime thriller to capture the 2013 Big West Tournament Sunday afternoon at the Anteater Aquatics Center.  Tournament MVP Monika Eggens scored four goals for UH, including the game-winner with 44 seconds left in the second overtime period.

49ers Upend 3rd-Seeded San Diego State to Claim Third-Place at the Big West Tournament

Third times a charm for the 2013 Long Beach State women's water polo team as the 49ers upended the No. 3 seed San Diego State 8-6 at the Big West Tournament Sunday afternoon to claim third-place. Coriann Snyder led the way for LBSU with a hat-trick while Kelly Ringel finished eight saves.

Aggies Finish Seventh At Big West Tourney

Senior attacker Carmen Eggert scored five goals whie senior goalkeeper Riane Woods tallied 12 saves, leading seventh-seeded UC Davis to a 10-4 win over eighth-seeded Pacific in the Big West Conference tournament seventh-place game at Anteater Aquatics Complex Sunday.
