Cal State Fullerton’s Carlos Lopez is one of 10 finialist for the 2013 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate baseball, as chosen by a media committee.   

The three-time Big West All-Academic selection currently ranks second in the Big West in runs scored with 32 and is tied for fourth in hits with 51.  The Northridge, Calif., native is hitting .331 on the season, while driving in 20 RBI.

He was named the Cal State Fullerton Male Scholar Athlete of the Year in back-to-back seasons (2011, 2012) and was also listed on the Capitol One Academic All-District team in 2011.

Fans can vote for Lopez at www.seniorclassaward.com.  Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches’ votes to determine the winner.  The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2013 NCAA College World Series® in Omaha June 15-26.

To be eligiible for the award, a student-athlete must be an NCAA DI senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.  An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
