Junior Kyle Miller (Pacific Grove, Calif./Stevenson HS) did everything he could to help UC Davis spring an upset on Causeway Cup rival Sacramento State, earning him Big West Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades.

Miller won his singles matchup at No. 2 and doubles encounter at No. 3 as the Aggies lost a valiant 4-3 battle to the Hornets Saturday.

Miller toppled Aliaksandr Malko in straight sets, 7-6, 6-4, to pick up UCD's third point of the afternoon.  In doubles, he partnered with Adam Luba to take down the Hornet duo of Roy Brandys and Niranjan Ram by an 8-6 score.  The Aggies ended up winning the doubles point and taking a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Pacific Grove, Calif. native was the only UC Davis player to collect victories in both singles and doubles against the Hornets.

Miller improved to 7-3 in singles and 3-1 in doubles dual matches this season.

Others nominated:  Jordan Bridge (Cal Poly); Ryan Cheung (UC Irvine); Luis Gastao (UC Riverside); Denis Stolyarov (Pacific)
