Pacific freshman Kat Schulz earned Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors after being selected the Most Valuable Player of the Bankers Classic.
In just her second collegiate tournament, Schulz led the Tigers to three consecutive three-set sweeps. The opposite hitter averaged 3.56 kills, 4.44 digs and 0.44 service aces per set as Pacific dispatched Portland State, Nevada and Northern Illinois. Schulz also hit a solid .370 for the week with only five attack errors in 73 attempts.
She began the tournament with seven kills and 14 digs against the Vikings. Schulz increased her productivity against the Wolf Pack, pounding 15 kills and adding 14 digs for her first career double-double. She hit a sizzling .560 (15-1-25) in the match.
Schulz finished out the tournament with a .333 (10-2-24) hitting percentage versus Northern Illinois and registered her third-straight match with double-digit digs. Her 12 digs also secured her second consecutive double-double.
