UC Davis sophomore Trevor Halsted and UC Santa Barbara junior Dani Moreno were the top Big West finishers at the prestigious Stanford Invitational, garnering Men's and Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for their performances.

Halsted Finishes 13th Overall at Stanford Invitational

UC Davis sophomore Trevor Halsted (Davis, Calif./Davis HS) placed 13th overall at the Stanford Invitational to earn Big West Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week accolades.

Halsted ran the 8K course in a time of 24:37 to pace the Aggies to an eighth place team finish.  Halsted stepped up into a leadership role in a race that included 265 runners and 29 teams.

Moreno Dashes To Ninth Place Finish at Stanford Invitational

UC Santa Barbara junior Dani Moreno (Downey, Calif./Warren HS) raced to a ninth place finish overall at the Stanford Invitational to be selected Big West Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Moreno ran a 21:05 over the 6K course to become the top Big West finisher in a race that also included conference teams Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, UC Davis, UC Irvine and Hawaii.

She helped the Gauchos to a third place team finish with 160 points, behind overall winner Stanford (25) and runner-up Adams State (136).

The field included 34 teams and 292 runners.
