UC Davis senior Lisa Kemp and Cal Poly junior Leslie Barkmann played big offensive roles in seeing their teams post 2-0 records, while Barkmann also was named defensive MVP of the Viking Soccer Classic. For their efforts, Kemp and Barkmann were honored as the Big West Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Kemp Delivers Pair Of Game-Winning Goals
Lisa Kemp (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) provided both game-winning goals to extend the UC Davis winning streak to four straight games, leading to Big West Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for the senior.
Kemp scored a goal for the second and third consecutive matches as the Aggies dealt shutouts to both Creighton (2-0) and UNLV (2-0) at home. She also contributed to the other Aggie goal against Creighton with her third assist of the season.
She knocked in the eventual game-winner against Blue Jays with an unassisted goal in the third minute. Against the Rebels, Kemp struck in the 27th minute after pouncing on a missed shot by Allison Kelly that had been saved by the keeper. Kemp now leads the team with nine points on three goals and three assists.

Barkmann Collects Defensive MVP Honors at Viking Soccer Classic
Cal Poly’s
Leslie Barkmann (Redwood City, Calif./Woodside Priory) provided contributions on both ends of the field in earning the Big West Defensive Player of the Week award.
The junior was named the defensive Most Valuable Player of the Viking Soccer Classic as the Mustangs limited Seattle and Boise State to a combined one goal in a pair of victories.
Barkmann also stepped up with the game-winning goal in the 2-1 triumph over the Redhawks and delivered the game-winning assist in a 3-0 shutout of the Broncos.
