UC Irvine (42-16), winner of the Los Angeles Regional, is jet-setting across the country to face top-seed Virginia (52-9) this Saturday through Monday for the Charlottesville Super Regional as announced by the NCAA.

The first two games in the series are slated for 10:00 a.m. (PT) and will be aired on ESPNU. Should a third game be necessary, it is scheduled for June 13 with first pitch to be determined.

The Anteaters are visiting Virginia for the first time after sweeping the Los Angeles Regional with wins over Fresno State, San Francisco and UCLA. UC Irvine is making its third trip to the NCAA Super Regional in five years and has advanced to the postseason seven of its 10 seasons since reinstating the program in 2002.

The number one team in the country, Virginia swept through the Charlottesville Regional, collecting wins from Navy, St. John's and East Carolina.

The two teams met previously in the postseason back in 2009 when UC Irvine hosted Virginia, San Diego State and Fresno State in regional play. The Anteaters had an early exit after the Cavaliers defeated them twice on their home field. UC Irvine hopes to avenge the regional loss this weekend on Virginia's home turf.

The winner from each of the eight Super Regionals advance to the 65th Men's College World Series which begins play Saturday, June 18 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.
