A total of 200 student-athletes from nine member institutions were selected to the Academic All-Big West Conference Team for the spring sports of baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, men's and women's golf, and women's water polo. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, complete one full year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically) and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara tied for most all-academic selections with 29 apiece. The 49ers had 10 representatives in women's track and field and a league-high six in women's tennis. The Gauchos led the conference with 12 selections in women's track and field. UC Irvine finished third with 23 all-academic representatives, while Cal State Fullerton was fourth with 22.
UC Davis had 21 representatives to rank fifth among Big West schools. Cal State Northridge was sixth with 21 and UC Riverside seventh with 20 representatives. Pacific and Cal Poly had 18 and 17 student-athletes recognized, respectively.
Women's track and field led all sports with 56 honorees and men's track and field was second with 31. Women's water polo produced 27 all-academic honorees, followed by women's tennis (24), baseball (18), softball (14) and men's tennis (11). Men's golf had 10 selections and women's golf nine.
