A quartet of Big West athletes claimed All-America honors during a weather delayed day three of the NCAA Track & Field Championships. The national meet is being held in the stormy Midwest at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

In the field events, two Big West athletes competed in the women's triple jump in Cal Poly's Jasmine Pickett and UC Riverside's Allison Wilder. Pickett was able to come away with All-American honors after a seventh place finish with a mark of 43-06.50 (13.27m), while Wilder finished in ninth after an effort of 42-07.50 (12.99m).

The men's 800 dealt another cruel blow to UC Irvine's Charles Jock. Last month, Jock lost the Big West 800 title by .05 seconds to UC Santa Barbara's Ryan Martin. In the national final, Jock lost to Virginia's Robbie Andrews by just .04 seconds with a Big West record time of 1:44.75. It's one of the older records in league history as former Utah State star Mark Enyeart set the mark back in 1981. Martin also competed in the field and finished eighth with a time of 1:47.62.

Ciara Short's remarkable Cal State Fullerton career ended with an All-American finish in the women's 400. Short crossed the line with a time of 52.35, good for a fifth place finish.

After numerous delays, the men's decathlon finished up Friday afternoon. Long Beach State's Nicholas Armstrong wrapped up his time in the multi-event in 18th with 7,374 points. Meanwhile, Sherrina Lofton of Cal State Northridge finished up the heptathlon with 5,209 points for 16th place.
