A total of 22 student-athletes from nine member institutions were honored on the 2011 Big West Conference Winter All-Academic team today for the sports of men's and women's basketball. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, complete one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically), and compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
Cal State Fullerton placed a league-high four women's basketball student-athletes on the all-academic squad. Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara had three all-academic honorees for women's hoops to also lead the way.
