Malenovska Providing Jolt To Long Beach State Lineup
Long Beach State Klaudia Malenovska (Bratislava, Slovakia/Hanova 28) went a perfect 4-0 in singles and doubles to claim Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.

The sophomore has shown no signs of rust after missing the initial 12 matches of the season.  Malenovska rolled through both of her opponents at No. 2 singles, toppling Louisville's Mandy Brown 6-0, 6-3 and Pepperdine's Ale Granillo 6-3, 6-4.  The win over Granillo nearly helped the 49ers defeat the No. 37-ranked Waves, but LBSU fell 4-3 in a tough defeat.  Malenovska and partner Anais Dallara also won their match at No. 1 doubles in both matches, which helped the 49ers capture the doubles point.

Malenovska is now 4-0 in singles in her debut for the 49ers.

Others nominated: Alexa Lee (Cal Poly); Courtney Byron (UC Irvine); Olga Gumenyuk (Pacific)
