UC Davis senior Alex Holmes had an outstanding week at the plate and in the circle for the Aggies, grabbing both the Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week.

Holmes' Hot Bat Leads Aggies

UC Davis senior Alex Holmes had a sizzling week at the plate for the Aggies, netting her Big West Player of the Week honors.

Holmes had a hit in all six games she played in, recorded four multi-hit outings and had five extra base hits. She started the week with a bang, going 3-for-3 with two RBI against rival Sacramento State.

Holmes also picked up a pair of hits against San Jose State twice and Albany, picking up a total of 11 hits over her 18 at-bats for a .611 batting average.

Holmes also scored four runs, hit a home run and collected four RBI, two doubles and two triples.

Holmes Shuts Down Opposition, Leads UCD To 4-1 Week

Alex Holmes was a workhorse in the circle for UC Davis last week, picking up Big West Pitcher of the Week honors for her efforts.

Holmes appeared in five of the six games the Aggies played last week, going 3-1 with a save over 26.1 innings.

Her top showing was a three-hit, two-run complete game win over San Jose State. The two runs she allowed were unearned and she struck out seven.

Holmes also pitched well in her lone loss of the week, going six innings and allowing five hits, two runs (both unearned), walking none and striking out five against Boise State.

In all, Holmes allowed just 20 hits, nine runs, four unearned run, walked six and struck out 27.
