Dome, Dallara Collect Weekly Tennis Awards

Cal Poly's Andre Dome and Long Beach State's Anais Dallara went undefeated in singles and doubles from their respective No. 1 positions to claim Big West Men's and Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades.

Dome Helps Cal Poly Topple No. 68 UNLV
Andre Dome (Arroyo Grande, Calif./Arroyo Grande HS) had a banner effort at No. 1 doubles and singles in three Cal Poly victories, including one over a nationally ranked opponent, as the Mustang sophomore earned Big West Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.

Dome went to three sets to defeat UNLV's Mehdi Bouras 7-6, 5-7, 10-5 as part of a 5-2 team win over the No. 68-ranked Rebels.  Dome also dispatched an individual nationally ranked foe when he breezed to a 6-3, 6-2 win over No. 74 Arthur Surreaux of New Mexico State.  He began the week in Las Vegas with an easy 6-0, 6-1 victory against Southern Mississippi’s Jovan Zeljkovic.

In doubles, Dome and partner Alexander Sonesson won all of their matches, including a tough 9-8 decision over the New Mexico State duo of Jim Brouleeu and Matej Stakne.

Long Beach State's Dallara Perfect at No. 1 Singles and Doubles
Anais Dallara (Valbonnes, France/College De L'Eganaude) posted a perfect 4-0 record at No. 1 doubles and singles to help Long Beach State to two road wins, earning her Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades.

Dallara defeated Cal State Fullerton's Tiffany Mai 6-1, 6-2 in singles and teamed with Deborah Armstrong in doubles to deal the Titan duo of Mai and Monica Rodriguez an 8-3 defeat.  The 49ers captured a 7-0 team win for their 28th straight regular season conference triumph.

In LBSU's 6-1 win against Loyola Marymount, Dallara overcame a first set deficit in her matchup with April Bisharat, a transfer from UC Irvine.  The junior earned a 5-7, 6-4, 10-2 win.  In doubles, she and Armstrong romped to an 8-1 victoy over the Lions' pairing of Elisaveta Pironkova and Reka Rohovni.
