Long Beach State and UC Riverside made it 2-for-2 in softball weekly awards as each club had a player honored for the second straight week. LBSU's Megan Denio was named the Big West Player of the Week, while UC Riverside's Jordyn McDonald was honored as the Big West Pitcher of the Week.

Megan Denio (Tustin, Calif./Beckman HS) led a potent Long Beach State offense at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, earning her Big West Player of the Week honors.
Denio batted .467 (7-15) over her five games in Las Vegas, helping the 49ers to a 3-2 record. She collected a hit in four of the five games and posted multi-hit efforts in three contests.
After picking up a hit against Hawai'i and two hits and a run scored against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Denio broke out in a big win against Arkansas. She went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and an LBSU single-game record-tying six RBI.
Denio then wrapped up her time in the desert with two hits, two runs and a stolen base in Long Beach State’s extra inning victory against Boise State.

McDonald Leads Highlanders To Impressive Showing at aTen Construction Tournament
Jordyn McDonald (Las Vegas, Nev./Salt Lake CC) put in two outstanding performances for UC Riverside last weekend, netting her Big West Pitcher of the Week mention.
The junior made two starts in the circle for the homestanding Highlanders during the aTen Construction Tournament. The first was a complete game four-hit win against Minnesota. She allowed just one run (earned), walked two and struck out seven.
In McDonald's next start, she again went the distance but was saddled with a tough loss against Loyola Marymount. McDonald allowed nine hits and four runs, but only one of the runs was earned in a 4-0 defeat. She also walked none and struck out four.
