Big Week For Erving Helps Nab Conference Honor

Cal State Northridge's Jasmine Erving had a stellar night where a career-best performance vaulted her to 1,000 career points and secured a victory for the Matadors, earning her Big West Womens Basketball Player of the Week honors. This is the second weekly accolade of her career.

In Thursday's game versus Long Beach State, the junior forward drained 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. She added two blocks, one steal and one assist to her total.

Two days later in the Matadors' win over Cal State Fullerton, Erving poured in a career-high 35 points, the most by a Big West player this season. Her 35-point performance assisted in her becoming the ninth player in school history to score 1,000 career points. The Santa Ana, Calif., native currently owns 1,020 career points to rank 101st in the conference. Along wither her impressive point total, Erving registered eight rebounds, two blocks and two assists.

For the week, she shot .513 from the field while averaging 23.5 points and 7.5 points per game.
