UC Riverside's Chad Hall and Cal Poly's Kayleigh Tyerman were the first recipents of weekly honors in 2010 as Hall was named the Big West Men's Athlete of the Week, while Tyerman claimed Women's Athlete of the Week accolades.
Hall, a junior from Big Bear, Calif., won the Nevada Twilight Classic in a meet record time of 19:49. He finished 15 seconds ahead of the second place runner in the 6K race, established a new personal best and led the Highlanders to a second place finish behind perennial national power Stanford.
Tyerman, a sophomore from Medford, Ore., paced the Mustangs at the UCSB Lagoon Open. She finished the 5K in 17:07, good for first place and a course record.
