After guiding Cal State Fullerton to a 3-0 record and the Crowne Plaza Fullerton Titan Classic team title, Erin Saddler collected Big West Player of the Week honors, for the week ending Sept. 5. This is Saddler's third weekly honor of her career.
In the opener against Montana, the Bellflower, Calif., native posted 16 kills with just two errors, hit .386 and scooped eight digs to guide the Titans to a 3-0 victory. Against Georgia State, Saddler tallied her second double-double of the season with 16 kills and 13 digs to lead Fullerton to its second three-set sweep of the tournament.
In the Titan Classic finale, a 3-0 victory over Colorado, she led all players with 13 kills and registered two aces and two blocks. This week's performances helped Saddler continue her string of matches in double digit kills, collecting 13-or-more in all six matches so far in 2010.
For the week, the Crowne Plaza Fullerton Titan Classic most valauble player averaged 5.0 kills and 3.0 digs per set. She also hit .286 and tallied four assists and three aces in the two-day event.
