Long Beach State junior Nicole Sweetman and UC Irvine senior Tanya Taylor garnered Big West Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Pacific freshman Tashia Long notched Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Sweetman, Taylor Help Teams Go Undefeated For Week

Tanya Taylor (Buena Park, Calif./Sunny Hills HS) are Big West Women’s Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week as they helped their teams to victories on the road.
Sweetman recorded two goals, including the game-winner, to lead LBSU to a 4-1 win against Akron Sunday at the UNLV Rebel Classic. She scored her first goal in the 39th minute and followed with her second in the 74th minute. Sweetman started and played 27 minutes in a 2-1 overtime victory at UNLV.
Taylor posted a goal and two assists in a pair of 2-0 road wins against Fresno State and San Francisco. The forward collected the game-winning assist against the Bulldogs and garnered a goal and assist versus the Dons.

Long Makes Eight Saves In Pacific's 1-1 Tie Against No. 16 California

Tashia Long (Sandy, Utah/Alta HS) earned Big West Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as she made several saves in a 1-1 draw on the road against No. 16 California.
Long faced 14 shots against the No. 4 offense in the NCAA and made eight saves. She allowed just the one goal, but did not let the nation’s leading goal scorer, Alex Morgan, to tally a score. California entered the match with 19 goals in the last four games. Long played 65 minutes in the match, entering at halftime when the Tigers led 1-0.
