Seniors Erica Seidman of UC Santa Barbara and Danielle deSeriere of UC Irvine were selected Big West Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week as the 2010 season is now underway.
Seidman Produces Two Game-Winning Goals

Erica Seidman (Coto de Caza, Calif./Tesoro HS) garnered Big West Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after delivering the game-winning goal in a pair of Gaucho victories.
The midfielder scored the second and third goals of her career as the Gauchos defeated Cal State Northridge and Cal State Bakersfield by identical 2-0 scores on the opening weekend of the 2010 season.
Seidman opened the scoring early against the Matadors in a designated non-conference match Friday. She took a pass directly in front of the goal and redirected it into the right corner of the net for a 1-0 UCSB lead at the 7:06 mark. Against the Roadrunners Sunday, Seidman slammed a shot off a cross into the net for another 1-0 UCSB advantage in the early part of the second half.

deSeriere Helps UC Irvine To Draw Against No. 14 California

Danielle deSeriere (Cerritos, Calif./Mayfair HS) claimed Big West Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week accolades after helping her team defeat Idaho and tie No. 14 California.
The goalkeeper made four saves and picked up the game-winning assist in a 2-1 win over Idaho Friday. She had a diving save in the first half and tipped a ball over the net in the closing minutes to preserve the win.
Against the Bears, she allowed a pair of goals but made eight saves as UCI battled to a 2-2 double overtime tie Sunday. It was UCI’s first non-loss against the Bears as the Anteaters were 0-8 overall going into the contest.
