The last Big West softball weekly awards were split amongst three players as Cal Poly's Shea Williams and UC Santa Barbara's Jessica Beristianos shared the Player of the Week honor, while Long Beach State's Brooke Turner won the Pitcher of the Week accolade.
Williams Leads Mustang Offense to Season-Ending Series Win Over Pacific
Cal Poly second baseman Shea Williams was an offensive force for the Mustangs in their final action of the 2010 season, netting her Big West Player of the Week accolades.
The freshman opened the series against Pacific with a 3-for-3 effort in Cal Poly's 12-3 win. Two of those three hits were home runs, the first two roundtrippers of her collegiate career. Williams collected three RBI and scored three runs in her breakout game.
After going hitless in game two, Williams bounced back in the finale with a three-run homer and two runs scored in Cal Poly's 12-2 win.
For the week, Williams batted .444 (4-9) with three homers, six RBI and five runs scored. Her six RBI during the series represented half of her RBI total for the season.
Beristianos Wraps Up Season With Big Offensive Series Versus Big West Co-Champion UC Davis
Jessica Beristianos of UC Santa Barbara ended the 2010 season with a bang as she led the Gauchos to a series win over Big West co-champion UC Davis.
The junior kicked off the series with a grand slam in UCSB's 6-0 win over the Aggies, her first homer of the season. She added another RBI in game two, but her RBI single in the top of the first in the finale gave UCSB the early momentum in an eventual 7-2 win.
Beristianos batted .600 for the series (3-5) with a homer, six RBI, four runs scored and walked four times. She posted a .818 on-base percentage and reached base safely at least twice in every game.

Turner Shuts Down UC Riverside in Season Finale
Long Beach State pitcher Brooke Turner wrapped up the 2010 season with a dominating performance in the circle against UC Riverside, resulting in Big West Pitcher of the Week honors.
The junior opened the series with a complete game two-hitter, striking out 10 Highlanders and walking none on her way to facing just three over the minimum in the 2-0 LBSU win.
Turner then bookended the series with another shutout win over UCR, striking out six, walking one and allowing just four hits to lead the 49ers to a series sweep.
