A light week did nothing to deter Cal State Northridge's performance last week as the Matadors claimed both Big West softball weekly awards.
Chapparo's Bat Leads CSUN to Sweep of Utah
Karla Chapparo led Cal State Northridge to a doubleheader sweep of Utah last week, parlaying a big offensive showing into Field Player of the Week honors.
The junior started the doubleheader with a 3-for-4 performance in a 6-1 win. She knocked in two runs and hit a double to lead the offensive surge.
Chapparo was just as good in the nightcap, going 2-for-3 with a RBI, run scored and another double in the 8-2 victory.
Chapparo's two doubles raised her season total to a team-best seven, while the 5-for-7 showing raised her batting average to a career-best .270.

Fraijo Picks Up a Pair of Wins for CSUN over Utah
Hannah Fraijo won both ends of a doubleheader for Cal State Northridge last week, netting her Big West Pitcher of the Week honors.
The sophomore started the first game of the twinbill against Utah, going the distance and allowing the Utes to amass just one hit, one earned run and two walks in the 6-1 Matador win.
Fraijo came on in relief to win the second game, going 6.1 innings and allowing five hits, one run and one walk in the 8-2 CSUN win.
Fraijo picked up four strikeouts in both appearances and has now won a team-high eight games this season for the Matadors.
