Cal Poly's Rachel Clancy was red hot from the field last week, leading to two Mustang wins and the Big West Player of the Week award.
The junior kicked off her week with a 14-point effort in Cal Poly’s 69-48 win over then-league leader UC Davis. In the game she hit 5-of-10 from the field, including a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the three-point stripe. Clancy also added five assists and a rebound in the game that moved the Mustangs into first place in the league standings.
She followed up that effort with an even better shooting performance in Cal Poly's home win over Pacific. Clancy hit 7-of-9 from the floor, including all five of her three-point attempts, and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line for 23 points, one shy of her career-best. She also matched her collegiate best with five three-point baskets and added five rebounds and five assists in 23 minutes.
For the week, Clancy averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds. She shot a blistering 63.2% from the field and an astounding 75.0% (9-12) from the three-point line.
