Figueroa's All-Around Game Leads LBSU to Key Conference Victories

Long Beach State's Karina Figueroa posted an excellent all-around stat line in the 49ers' pair of key conference wins last week, netting her Big West Player of the Week accolades.

The fifth-year senior started her week with an impressive stat line in LBSU's home win over first-place Cal Poly. Figueroa shot 10-for-20 from the field, including a 4-for-6 effort from downtown, on her way to a season-high tying 26-point effort. She also added team-highs in rebounds (8) and assists (7) in 34 minutes of action.

Figueroa then led the 49ers to a home win over UC Santa Barbara in the next game, clinching a season-sweep of the Gauchos for the first time since 1990-91. In this one, she connected on 8-of-16 from the field, added four more three pointers, collected six assists and three rebounds in the comeback win.

For the week, Figueroa averaged 25.0 points, 6.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals. She shot an even 50% from the field and torched the opposition with a 66.7% (8-12) clip from the three-point line.
