UC Irvine teammates CoCo Goodson and Danielle deSeriere swept the Big West Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards after leading the Anteaters to their first regular season conference title with a pair of 1-0 road victories.
Goodson Tallies Pair Of Game-Winning Goals
CoCo Goodson (Ramona, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS) recorded a pair of game-winning goals to spur UC Irvine to two road victories and the program’s first-ever conference regular season title, capturing Big West Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week laurels in the process.
Goodson, a junior defender, has exhibited a flair for the dramatic as the goals were her fourth and fifth game-clinchers this season. Her five game-winning goals lead the Big West.
In a 1-0 win against Long Beach State, Goodson scored at 42:22 off of a one-touch pass from Tanya Taylor. She posted a second half goal in the 52nd minute to propel the Anteaters to a 1-0 win versus UC Riverside.
For her efforts, Goodson also was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week.

deSeriere Sets UC Irvine Career Shutout Record
Danielle deSeriere (Cerritos, Calif./Mayfair HS) became UC Irvine’s career shutout leader with 30 after a pair of 1-0 road wins, earning her Big West Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The two clean sheets were also her ninth and 10th of the year. She now owns the UCI single-season record with the 10 shutouts.
deSeriere, who had one save against Long Beach State and four more versus UC Riverside, ranks third all-time at UCI with 250 career saves. The senior goalkeeper has allowed just one goal in the last six games and leads the conference with a 0.63 goals against average.
